Product Description

With its sinuous curves and elegant keyhole-shaped vents, Dirt Devil's Kurv looks more like a space-age vase than a household cleaning product. And while it picks up crumbs, dust, and spills just as well as your averagely ugly cordless handheld vacuum, the machine's aesthetics are its major drawing card. Created by renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid, the Kurv is stylish enough to leave out on the counter or coffee table, where it's more likely to come into play sooner--before the Cheerios are ground into the Karastan, in other words, or just as the last-minute guests are due to arrive. The cordless design plugs into a charging base for storage, so the unit is always ready to go, and the dirt cup simply twists off to empty, sparing users the hassle and expense of disposable bags. Weighing in at just two pounds, the Kurv also features a replaceable filter and a soft tip, to protect delicate surfaces like hardwood floors or antique furniture. It comes backed by a limited three-year warranty. --Mary Park

Dirt Devil does it again!

Reviewer: J. Tellalian,
As if their KONE wasn't good enough, Dirt Devil has managed to top it with the even sleeker, more powerful, KURVE hand-vac. This dynamic little ditty shaped like an original lava lamp is the perfect picker-upper for crumbs that accumulate on the floor around a table or on the kitchen floor, potting soil that escapes after watering plants, dust bunnies and pretty much anything else that you can think of. I can't be sure how good it will do on pet hair since I no longer have a pet, but I'd be wiling to bet that cat litter tracks will be a thing of the past with this groovy vac. It's absolutle terrific on furniture lint and in the nooks and crannies of the sofa. Of course, it's always wise to stay away from trying to suck up anything too large or too substantial like paper clips or nuts and bolts, but this puppy is now my official go-to vac for freshing up those areas where dust and hair often accummulate and when dragging out the big vacuum is too much of a hassle. The price is right and it comes in several cool, metallic-finish colors (I got the rust). It holds a charge much longer than I thought it would and empties easily, but be sure to remove the plastic dust filter inside and clean that regularly as it can fill up pretty quickly depending on on much hair and lint you've got around. All-in-all, a great gadget. I bought it for myself, but it would make a welcome gift!
love this hand vac!!!

I really like this hand vac. The size of the nozzle is great to pick up my kitchen messes that always include dry cat food, other vacs just push it around. Holds the charge for a long time. I read some of the other comments left- If you expect a hand vac to last a really long time, like longer than 20 minutes, you need a broom. And all the hand vacs I have ever had have blown some of the dirt around if I hold it at the wrong angle. This one works great and looks nice. I finally found a hand vac that lasts longer than I need it, and I highly recommend it!
LOVE IT

I know there are many mixed reviews for the Kurv, (I should know, I generally review the heck out of something before I make a decision especially with online purchases), but I 'bit the bullet' and placed the order anyway. My husband and I have 1 German Shepherd and 3 cats. It goes without saying our house is usually covered in pet hair, within hours of a thorough vacuum session. We used to 'plug in' our shop-vac every other day, and it still felt like we couldn't get to the bottom of the hair mess, so to speak. WE LOVE THE KURV. No it doesn't have a lot of suction power, but it's not a shop-vac, it was never meant to be -- we did not expect it to be able to suck puddle of water or industrial amounts of gravel and what not. It does blow the loose fur a bit around when you get close enough to 'suck it', but so does our shop-vac, not an inconvenience there, you just have to be relatively quick with it, can't move towards the pile of mess in slow-motion like you're afraid you're gonna spook it or something. I am generally small boned, small hands and all, and never had a problem getting a good grip on the Kurv's handle. Bottom line, I use it for 1 or 2 minutes every day when I get home from work, vacuum the random fur bunnies - and I haven't had to plug in the industrial shop-vac in more than a month. My mom came over and for once she was 'shocked' there was no fur hair flying around the house. There are three little 'bad' points, if you're considering the Kurv. Don't expect it to vacuum carpets. We have all hardwood floors and ceramic tiles, therefore it works great for us. It does not really work on the area rugs, but we don't mind that since we generally take those outside for a good 'shake' once a week. It also does not work wonders on cat litter. It works, just takes a little longer to pick up the mess, does not perform miracles as with the loose pet fur. The last down side is not really a down side, as it is to be expected. I wish the little bag that holds the dirt was a little bigger volume wise, as I have to empty the cup after every other vacuuming session. But then again, for what it is, GREAT PRODUCT, LOVE IT.

I love this light weight hand vac. It is very stylish. I have it sitting on my fireplace hearth, so it is easy to grab at anytime and always charged and ready to go. The angled tip is great for cleaning up around baseboards and in window seals. It is not made to do big vacuuming jobs but great for the quick crumb pick-up.
Works as expected

I was visiting a friend the first saw the Kurve. I wasn't sure what it was at first sitting by the kitchen sink, looked like a Lava Lamp. After seeing it used a few times to pick up the mess from his one year old (mostly food crumbs), I knew I had to buy one. And so I did last month. I love it. I use it almost every day to pick up after my Parakee's, very messy eaters. It is perfect for quick small jobs.
